Anthony Dean #269

It is not uncommon to see Anthony and his entourage (wife, Paula and baby, AJ, Jr.) at any of the MCRA events or CCS races. Anthony Dean, of APP Racing, began his riding career on a Yamaha Radian as a lower cost form of transportation while attending St. Louis University and studying AeroSpace Engineering (needed to learn how to go fast!). So if you need the advice of a "Rocket Scientist", Anthony is the one to go to!

Over the years he developed a need to pursue his riding habit and purchased a 1994 BMW R110RS that he still owns today. But over time he wanted more. So a good friend signed him up to attend the Freddie Spencer Riding School in Las Vegas in 2004. After that he was hooked! Anthony attended a few MCRA Track Days events and also got his CCS Race License in 2004 and began to compete with CCS in the 2005 season.

In 2006 he finished 2nd and 3rd overall in his classes and in 2007 won 4 regional championships in Lightweight GP, Lightweight Superbike, GTL and Lightweight Super Sport. He is competing for the same titles in 2008.

Anthony plans to continue racing and supporting the MCRA events and has plans of competing at National Levels with ASRA and Moto-ST. He hopes to help his son, AJ Jr, learn the sport and become a young competitive rider. He also hopes that more and more Lightweight riders come out to Gateway and take a shot at his lap time! I think that was an open challenge! :)
