That is correct!
You can now complete the required racer's licensing clinic at the MCRA track days.

To become a full licensed racer and compete in any REAL races or the I-70 Challenge Series races, you are required to have a valid racers license. To get a license you will have to attend an accredited racer's clinic, pass the course and get your diploma, and then submit your racer's application. The MCRA has submitted all the required filings and received the credentials to hold a racer's licensing clinic at our MCRA Track Days.

Here is a brief schedule of the clinic: (subject to changes as track conditions change)

  • 7:00 am -- Track gates and Tech opens
  • 8:30 am -- Clinic participants gather in classroom
  • 9:00am to 3:45 -- Participants will be involved in classroom presentations and on-track evaluations.
  • approx 4:00pm -- Mock race and Clinic completion

Clinic includes:

  1. A morning track walk through pointing out track highlights, brake markers, race lines, corner apex's, and general track awareness.
  2. Classroom sessions
  3. Tutored on-track sessions
  4. Written test
  5. "mock" race. Warm-up lap, grid, start and finish.

After the "mock" race, clinic participants (that pass) will receive diplomas and a racer's license application. So, you get the clinic, diploma, racer's application and Track time!

Passing the MCRA Racer Licensing Clinic will qualify you to apply for:

  • CCS Race License (see the CCS site for fees) and compete in any CCS Race or I-70 Challenge Series Race.
  • MCRA Race License and compete in any I-70 Challenge Series Race.

You can get your CCS Race License Application or MCRA Race License Application at the end of the licensing clinic or buy clicking on the above links.

Naturally you will need a track worthy bike and full gear just as you would to participate in a normal track day.

Ready to go all out and get your Racer's License??

Registration link is at the top of the page

NOTE: If you have already signed up for the one of the track days and want to convert it to the clinic, contact me personally (mcraron on the forum or email to clinic@mcraracing.com to make the change).
