That is correct!
You can now complete the required racer's licensing clinic locally at the MCRA track days.

To become a full licensed racer and compete in any REAL races, you are required to have a valid racers license. To get a license you will have to attend an accredited racer's clinic (usually 6 plus hours driving time from St. Louis) at one of the tracks, pass the course and get your diploma, and then submit your racer's application. Well, you no longer have to drive to a distant track to get you clinic requirements completed. The MCRA has submitted all the required filings and received the credentials to hold a racer's licensing clinic right here at our Gateway Track Days.

Here is a brief schedule of the clinic: (subject to changes as track conditions change)

  • 7:00 am -- Track gates and Tech opens
  • 7:30 am -- Clinic participants gather in classroom
  • approx 1pm -- Clinic completion
  • Open Track the rest of the day (participation in your class - novice, intermediate or expert)

Clinic includes:

  1. A morning track walk through pointing out track highlights, brake markers, race lines, corner apex's, and general track awareness.
  2. Four classroom sessions
  3. Three tutored on-track sessions
  4. Written test
  5. "mock" race. Warm-up lap, grid, start and finish.

After the "mock" race, clinic participants (that pass) will receive diplomas and a racer's license application. At the close of the clinic, participants are permitted to complete the rest of the day running in their normal Track Day classification. So, you get the clinic, diploma, racer's application and Track time!

Passing the MCRA Racer Licensing Clinic will qualify you to apply for:

You can get your Race License Application (CCS and/or MCRA) at the end of the licensing clinic or buy clicking on either of the above links.

Naturally you will need a track worthy bike and full gear just as you would to participate in a normal track day.

Fee for the clinic is $180 for NON MCRA members (membership included) and $160 for current MCRA members.

Ready to go all out and get your Racer's License??
